Proposed ACA Changes Will Be Devastating - And Response

  • Thursday, March 16, 2017

Dear Fellow Tennesseans,
Proposed changes to the Affordable Care Act will be devastating to our communities on the Cumberland Plateau.  Most of our work force is in the service industry without insurance coverage provided by employers.  Salaries are not sufficient to purchase coverage on the Marketplace Exchange.

One of two children in Tennessee are on TNCare.  When a child has access to health care coverage, they do better in school, are more likely to graduate high school, and more likely to have higher paying jobs in the future.

Please contact our representatives: Senator Lamar Alexander and Senator Bob Corker to be part of a by-partisan, constructive approach to make health care more affordable for the middle class, low income and working poor.

Ms. Blizzard,

I do hope that a lot of people write to Alexander, Corker and Fleischmann, but please do not hold your breath till they change their mind. Remember they are not bi-partisan, they are Trump-partisan. If Trump says Trump Care is going to be the best thing for us then our representatives that we elected will do whatever Trump says. They do not have to guts to stand up to him or vote against him.

Also remember Corker wants to cut Medicare and Social-Security.  Why should he care. He is rich, he does not need either.
