Tyner's Jerrion Christopher scored 16 points to lead the Rams past visiting Loudon Saturday night in the first round of the Region 3-AA basketball tournament. Keven Cameron had 13 points.
Tyner led 34-12 at the half. Loudon fought back in the third quarter but a big fourth quarter by Tyner sealed the big win.
Khalil Melian had 15 points for Loudon.
In other Region 3-AA games, Brainerd beat Sequoyah 87-60, East Ridge snuck past Sweetwater 77-75 and McMinn Central beat Howard 59-56
East Ridge and Brainerd will face off in a region semifinal game Tuesday at 6 p.m. at McMinn County High School. Tyner and McMinn Central will play in the other semifinal game Tuesday at 7:45.
