Mary Elizabeth Moses, 82, a lifelong resident of McMinn County passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Brookwood Nursing Home in Decatur, TN.
She was born on January 29th, 1935 in Athens, TN to the late Cam & Arie Emmal Boggess; and was also preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children James Akens; her second husband James Moses; one son David Akens; and siblings Patsy Murray, Ruby Rue, Faye Boggess, Ross Boggess, Roy Boggess and Ray Boggess.
She is survived by one son Robert Akens; six grandchildren Bobby Akens, Ruthie Akens, David Akens (Stacie), Josh Akens, Keith Akens (Tasha) and Sherry Rogers (Dewayne); eight great-grandchildren; sisters Ivie Hall, Ruth Bowers, Pauline Hickman (Randy), Margie Carway (Allen), Emma Webb (Stan) and Bobbie Boggess; brothers J. C. Boggess, Lloyd Boggess (Judy), Floyd Boggess (Geraldine) and Jamie Boggess (Christy); and numerous other extended family members and special friends.
A graveside service is planned for Thursday, February 23 at 4 p.m. in the Clearwater Baptist Church Cemetery with her brother the Reverend Floyd Boggess officiating.
