Richard Blankenship, 75, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017.

Richard worked as a house painter most of his life in Dalton and was an avid fisherman who loved to fish in the Hiwassee River. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Blankenship; parents, Marvin and Onie Blankenship; and sister, Marie Blankenship Weiner.

He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Susan Blankenship; sister, Deborah Defore; brother-in-law & caregiver, Jack Braddam; daughter-in-heart & caregiver, Carol Stevenson; step-daughter, Tina Brakley; nephews and niece, Clint (Amy) Blankenship, Matt (Alison) Blankenship, Greg (Kim) Defore and Melinda Defore; and his best friend, “Candyman”.

At Richard’s request, there will be no public service at this time.

Companion Funeral and Cremation Service  has charge of the arrangements.
