Mustard Tree Ministries, Inc. has received a Community Grant from the Walmart of Signal Mountain.

The funds from the grant will go to fund Mustard Tree’s Lunch in the Park program. Right now, Mustard Tree serves a hot lunch to the impoverished and homeless of Chattanooga in Miller Park every Wednesday. With the grant, Mustard Tree and Walmart plan to add an additional day of serving lunch in the park. Thanks to the community support of the Walmart Signal Mountain, Mustard Tree will now be able to serve a hot meal on Tuesdays as well as Wednesdays.

When asked about the grant, Director Barry Kidwell said, “We are grateful for the support of community business sponsors such as Walmart. It is because of partners like Walmart that we are able to do what we do in working to combat poverty and homelessness.”
