Lyle Lovett Is Definitely Not Just Country; He "Churched" Appreciative Tivoli Crowd

Lyle Lovett rolled his Large Band into the Chattanooga Live Music scene Wednesday night.  The Tivoli House was prepared for the stage full of talent.  You should know that Lyle loves playing in Chattanooga. He mentioned enjoying the Scenic City, drinking RC Colas and eating Moon Pies.   I posted on social media that Lyle Lovett, Country Music icon will appear at the Tivoli this week.  I was stopped in my tapping keyboard as not true.  I thought I had mis-stated Lyle's music label.

Then, deciding to read further into his bio, Lyle actually is one of those very rare singer/songwriter and self-taught musicians with a wide interest. Since the 80’s his large Texas interest has been country, Americana, outlaw country, bluegrass, western swing, country folk, country pop, country rock and jazz.  He continues crossing the borders, branding his own style, music and swag.

He left us with a sense of understanding and added respect of his accomplishments tracing his music roots since the early 80’s and how each band member on stage  played a role in his career.  It was an awesome presentation of each member’s famed bio. All have performed with some of the most iconic artists who made impacts on Americana music in all genres.  The Large Band and strong vocals filled the space with traditional revival gospel worship, pop,  blues, jazz and rocking country on stage.  He left nothing out … in the end you walk away feeling somewhat “Churched”.
