Chattanooga Woman Behind National "Back The Blue" Day On Aug. 1

  • Friday, July 22, 2016

Ashley Shepherd of Chattanooga has coordinated representatives from more than 500 cities who will host events in all 50 states on Aug. 1 to support their local law enforcement.

On “Back the Blue” Day, participants will deliver cards, snacks and bottled water to police officers in their neighborhoods along with messages of appreciation for the officers' service to citizens.

"Right now we have over 500 cities represented through these women and it’s growing daily. Join us as we come together and give hope where there is discouragement and light where there is darkness.

On this day, we commit to pray for our officers and hand deliver hugs, cards, bottled water, and pre-wrapped snacks to our local law enforcement agencies.  Click here to join and make a difference," officials said.
