The Minnesota Twins turned Yankee Stadium into a launchpad in the sixth inning of a 7-1 victory Sunday over the Yankees.
Three homers were hit back-to-back-to back, including one by former Lookouts' outfielder Max Kepler.
Ironically the home runs were hit off another ex-Lookout, RHP Nathan Eovaldi.
On the mound for Minnesota was Tyler Duffey, also a member of the 2015 Lookouts. In the eighth, after losing his bid at a shutout on Mark Teixeira's home run, Duffey bounced back and struck out the side to close out a season-high eight innings.
It is always exciting for Chattanooga baseball fans to pay attention to the performance of ex-Lookouts who make it to the Major Leagues.
Sunday afternoon it was Max Kepler, a member of last year's 2015 Southern League Championship Lookouts' team, who made headlines. One can only imagine the thrill it must have been for this young man from Germany to homer in Yankee Stadium with its memories including that of another player of German descent, Lou Gehrig.
