Nikki Hill Featured At Nightfall Friday

  • Tuesday, May 24, 2016

The Nightfall Concert Series, produced by Chattanooga Presents, continues its 29th season this Friday at Miller Plaza with a headline performance by soul-shocked rock n roll artist Nikki Hill, and opening act Decibella.

"She’s been compared to a hybrid of Staple Singers and AC/DC, but nothing really prepares an audience for the music of Nikki Hill until they see her in live performance, which they can this Friday at Nightfall when she takes the stage at 8 p.m.  A North Carolina native, Ms. Hill and her band have been touring extensively in support of their 2015 independent release 'Heavy Hearts Hard Fists.' This followed on the heels of her debut album 'Here’s Nikki Hill' in 2013.  Nikki’s no-filter energy and unique voice mixes raw rock and soul dynamics with strength, passion and a tight rhythm section to create a fresh approach to American roots music and make you believe in rock n roll again," officials said.

"Building an international underground buzz with shows across America, Europe and Australia, Ms. Hill has spread her contagious love of music to an audience that crosses all descriptions. Billed as the 'New Soul Sensation,' Ms. Hill is not just another newcomer on the scene. She might just be the “New Queen of Rock n’ Roll.'"

Chattanooga’s own Decibella band will open this week’s show at 7 p.m. "Funky R&B with a heavy soul and a hint of blues describes this five-piece band fronted by singer, trumpeter and occasional fire dancer Bexy Ribeiro. Combined with Jon Elliott on saxophone, Amanda Rose on bass, and Hunter White on drums, Decibella will provide a sultry, high energy groove to start your night of music," officials said.

Nightfall 2016 represents a series of 15 free Friday-night concerts held at Miller Plaza in downtown Chattanooga. Each Friday through August 26 (with the exception of June 10 and 17 during Riverbend), Nightfall will showcase a broad spectrum of musical genres featuring a Chattanooga band at 7 p.m., followed by a headline show by a superior national artist at 8 p.m., many of whom are performing for the first time in the city.

Nightfall bulk discount beer and wine tickets will again be available this year at each show, offering a 20% savings on a packet of 20 drink tickets (typically $6 per individual ticket, but sold in a bulk packet for $96).  Food trucks and non-alcoholic drink concessions are also available on site. No outside food or beverages are allowed to be brought in to Nightfall.
