Sara Meredith, 19, was arrested for aggravated robbery on Saturday at the America’s Best Inn motel on Lee Highway.

The victim, Jason Hixson, told police he was from Nashville and was coming to Chattanooga to meet two girls whom he had never met. He said he got a room at the hotel and about 30 minutes later there was a knock on the door.

Mr. Hixson told police when he answered the door, he was met by two males. He said one of them put a gun to his head and demanded his money.
The victim said a shot was fired as he fled, and the suspects took a rifle and cash from his vehicle.

Police said one of the girls was found to be Ms. Meredith. They said after meeting and speaking with her about the incident, she admitted to having set up the robbery and taking part in it along with a man named Jeremy Skipworth.

Ms. Meredith was taken into custody due to her self-admission.
