Janet Brewer has been named senior vice president and chief communications and marketing officer for TVA by President and CEO Bill Johnson. She has served as vice president of communications since joining TVA in 2012.
As TVA’s chief communications and marketing officer, Ms. Brewer is responsible for brand reputation and marketing, internal and external strategic communications, media relations and digital and social media platforms, and for assuring all of TVA’s communications reflect TVA’s mission of service to provide low-cost, reliable power to the people of the Tennessee Valley.
“Janet’s leadership in global communications and marketing is strengthening our brand both internally and externally. Her skills are essential to TVA as the utility industry evolves with changes in technologies and consumer behaviors,” said Mr. Johnson.
Ms. Brewer spent much of her career in Dayton, Ohio, serving in leadership roles for NCR Corp., Lexis-Nexis and The Reynolds and Reynolds, Co. In addition, she led a marketing communications consultancy serving public and private companies and non-profit organizations. She has been actively engaged in community development efforts, and has led corporate and employee foundations and volunteer programs.
