Detectives with the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office have charged Ashley Ray Carlton, Jr., 25, with burglaries of five vehicles, all from the neighborhood where he lives, on Old Chattanooga Pike.

The owners of those vehicles filed reports last week stating losses consisting primarily of a GPS, phone chargers, wallets, credit cards and guns occurred sometime during Thursday night and early Friday morning. In addition, several received various levels of damage when the perpetrator forced entry into the vehicles.

Sheriff Eric Watson reported through additional investigation, detectives were able to track down some of the stolen property and efforts now are focused on locating the remaining property.

Carlton is facing five counts of auto burglary, four counts of theft under $500, theft over $1,000 and vandalism in General Sessions Court.
