Bertie Ramsey, 86, of Cleveland, Tennessee, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at the family residence.

She was the daughter of the late Oscar and Julie Barbee Neely; and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Welch; her second husband, Fred Ramsey; her children, Julie Berry and Bill Welch; her granddaughter, Tonya Davis; a sister, Louise Grey; and a brother, Homer Neely.

Mrs. Ramsey was retired from the Cleveland City School System as a Crossing Guard with many years of service and also for many years she worked for Hardee’s on Blue Spring Road as their biscuit maker. She was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include her granddaughters, Anne Beal and Tina Phillips and her husband Larry all of Cleveland; her brother, Oscar Neely and his wife Judy of Chattanooga; her sister, Leon Brady of Cleveland; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 10 at Jim Rush Funeral and Cremation Services Wildwood Ave. Chapel with Rev. Mike Wilkey officiating. The interment will follow in the Bald Hill Cemetery in Hamilton County with Dakota Price, Josh Moore, Corey Taylor, Ronald Neely, Zach Hicks and Dennis Holder serving as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 5-8 p.m. at the Jim Rush Funeral Home who has charge of the arrangements.
