Mary Ruth Ash Taylor “Ms. Sis”, of Chattanooga, died on Wednesday, February 10, 2016 at her residence. 

She was born on Nov. 22, 1928. She was an active member of First Corinthians Missionary Baptist Church, serving as an usher and a member of the Missionary Society.  She was a very faithful member of the Women’s Sunday School class. She was employed by Seaboard Farms for many years, and also the Chattanooga Choo-Choo. 

She is survived by the first child she loved, Willie Lee “Billy” (Virginia) Ashley; her first-born child, Dwight Matthew Ash; son, Alvin (Mildred) Taylor; daughters, Elerion “Lera” (Linnell) Ash-Richmond and Christine (Eddie) Ash-Caldwell; stepchildren, William Taylor, Jr., Regina Carter, Edith Taylor, and Octavia Clark; a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Visitation is on Sunday, Feb. 21, at noon in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 2 p.m.

Burial will be on Monday, Feb. 22, at 11 a.m. in Lakewood Memory Gardens, East.
