Beatrice “Aunt B” Chandler, 92, died on Friday, February 5, 2016 in a local hospital.
She was born May 5, 1923 in Chattanooga, to the late Bertha McShane Colvin and Walbert Colvin.
She was formerly employed at Yesterday’s Restaurant as a cook for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Chandler; son, Eddie “BooBoo” Hitchcock, Jr.; grandsons, Eric and Reginald Hitchcock; sister, Rebecca Colvin; brother, Jimmy Ford; nephew, Grady Norman Colvin.
Survivors include her caregiver and niece, Paulette Colvin; grandson, Terrell Hitchcock; granddaughters, Bridgette, Lowonda and Sharae Hitchcock; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; best-friends, Anna Pearl Nard and Heleaner Eccor; one nephew, James (Betty) Colvin; a host of nieces, nephews, very close and caring friends.
The funeral service will be held at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 16, at First Avondale Baptist Church with Minister James Sorrells officiating. Interment will be in National Cemetery.
The body will lie in state after noon on Monday, Feb. 15, and the family will receive friends from 7–8 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
