Barcom, Inc., a provider of data collection automation solutions for warehouse and manufacturing markets, announced the celebration of 25 years in business serving customers all over the U.S.
In 1991, Jim Ledbetter and John Rewcastle started the business selling bar code applications and custom programming. They worked with a number of manufacturers selling bar code scanners, printers and portable terminals. Their first customer applications involved automation in factories; with manufacturing, distribution and field service being the most prominent. Over the years, Barcom developed expertise in RFID, Fixed-Mount Scanning, Factory Automation, RF Infrastructure and Application Solutions.
Barcom provides hardware solutions from technology innovators such as Cisco, Cognex, Honeywell, Microscan and Zebra; and develops their own transaction-based software solution, transACTION, an all-in-one software tool to automate the bar code and RFID data collection function in the warehouse for inventory management and data collection processes.
“We’ve come a long way since working out of my basement in 1991,” said Jim Ledbetter, president and co-founder of Barcom. “With an outstanding team and the support of industry-leading manufacturers and suppliers, we have been able to consistently provide quality solutions for our customers.”
To commemorate this milestone, Barcom created a special anniversary page which hosts testimonials from customers and industry partners, along with application best practice tips and a history of the business.
