Inaugural Covenant Track And Field Schedule Finalized

The inaugural season of Covenant track and field will begin in February as head coach Katie Stanford has finalized the 2017 schedule. Overall, Covenant will compete in seven events from February until mid-April.

"This is an exciting time at Covenant as we start the first-ever track and field season," Ms. Stanford said. "We have a great group of athletes ready to get out on the track and are excited about being the first Covenant College Track and Field team."

The slate of events will see the Scots travel to NCAA Division II and III members along with a trip to a former NAIA conference foe.

The season starts on Feb.
11
 with the Tiger Indoor Invitational, hosted by Sewanee. The teams will then head to Berry College for the Victor Icebreaker Duals on March 4

The teams will hit the middle part of the schedule in mid-March with four straight weekends of two-day events starting with the Emory Invitational on March 17-18 in Atlanta, Ga. Covenant will also compete in the Falcon Classic, hosted by NCAA Division II member Montevallo, on March 24-25 before heading to NAIA member Montreat for its Invitational on March 31-April 1. The Scots will then travel back to Rome, Ga., to compete in the Berry Field Day Invitational on April 7-8.

The final event scheduled for the season in the Mountain Laurel Invitational, hosted by Sewanee, on Friday, April 14.
