Virginia Slaughter, 72, died on December 5, 2016.
She was born March 9, 1944 in Jonesboro, Ga. She was a retiree of Memorial Hospital after 25 years of service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Ida Slaughter; son, Terry Slaughter; grandson, Wendell Graves; one great-grandson and two great-granddaughters.
Survivors include her daughter, Deborah Slaughter; two grandsons, Trammel and Terry Slaughter, Jr.; four granddaughters, Alyshia Craig, Tiffany and Nicole Jennings, Tamara Slaughter; eleven great-grandchildren, Tra’Mia, Tabitha, Trinity, Taliah, Treasure, Ty’veasia, Terry Slaughter II, Ta’Kariuna Bradord, Ta’Rhiya Jennings, DeMontrez Hug; four sisters, Mary Young, Doris Hewlett, Alfredia Brown and Thelma Slaughter; three brothers, Harvey and Jimmy Williams, Tommy (Karen) Slaughter of Virginia Beach, VA.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 13, at Lakewood Memory Gardens – East at 1:30 p.m. Visitation will be the day of service, from 10 a.m.–1 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
