The Dalton State basketball team (5-1, 0-1 SSAC) opened the SSAC portion of their schedule Saturday with an 89-83 loss to No. 22 Faulkner University (5-5, 1-1) at Mashburn Arena in the Dalton Convention Center.
The Roadrunners had led at the half, 39-34, but they were out gunned by 11 after the break, 55-44. Isaiah Box scored 23 point for DS including 5 of 14 from beyond the arc. Mon’Darius Black and J’Quayveon Williams each scored 16 and Mike Harden added 13.
The Eagles’ Di-Mar Hill scored a game high 29 points while teammate Lucas Latrell’s double-double was with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Jose Jimenez added 15 points and Logan jozwiak 11.
Dalton State will host Fisk University on Dec. 16th at 8:00 p.m.
Also Saturday, Brewton-Parker (Ga.) knocked off Mobile 67-60; William Carey (Ms.) outscored Martin Methodist (Tn.) 104-101; Loyola of New Orleans clipped Coastal Georgia 66-64; Blue Mountain (Ms.) downed Bethel (Tn.) 85-80; Life defeated The University of the Cumberlands 71-66; and Tennessee Wesleyan knocked-off Reinhardt 82-79.
