Tennessee River Gorge Trust Trail Warriors Make You Want To Take A Hike

Trail warriors of the Tennessee River Gorge Trust make you want to take a hike.

The Tennessee River Gorge Trust staff and volunteers make a huge difference in the Chattanooga community and have been making the outdoor areas around the River Gorge clean and protected for more than 30 years.  They deserve to be recognized and praised for all of the hard work they have done for the community. Thanks to these amazing people for sacrificing their time and energy to make the Chattanooga area clean and beautiful for the public.

Without the protection and maintenance of trails around the River Gorge things would be overgrown and inaccessible. There would be trash on the trails and this would take away from the beauty of the area as well as be damaging to the environment. The River Gorge is such an important part of the Chattanooga area, not just for the people that live here but also for tourists.

The Tennessee River Gorge Trust protects over 17,000 of the 27,000 acres in the Gorge. In addition, the Trust conducts research to ensure the health of the forest and works with local nonprofits and schools to help educate community members about the importance of experiencing and protecting our local open spaces.

The Tennessee River Gorge Trust office is open to the public from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. during the week and is located on 1214 Dartmouth St.  They also have a free informational session at Puckett’s restaurant downtown on Thursday from 12-1 p.m. and it is open to the public. All that is need is to register for the dinner online at the Tenneessee River Gorge website.
