  • Thursday, October 27, 2016
Six Covenant women's soccer players picked up USA South postseason honors as the league unveiled its All-Conference awards on Thursday.

Summer Bader and Rachel Lemay both earned first team All-USA South and first team All-USA South West Division honors, while Anna Porch and Andrea Hunt Roylston were both selected to the first team All-USA South West Division and Roylston was Covenant's representative on the All-Sportsmanship team. Callie Bader and Kaitlyn Winking were named to the All-USA South West Division second team.

All awards are voted on by the women's soccer coach at each institution.
The divisional team voting is completed only by those coaches in the particular division. The all-conference and individual award voting is completed by all coaches.

A senior from Washington, D.C., Summer Bader has totaled two goals and five assists for nine points on the season. Bader collected the game-winning goal in the first half of Covenant's 1-0 win over Salem on Sept. 17 and her five assists are second-most on the team. The All-Conference and All-Division honors are the first of her career.

Lemay, a sophomore from Apopka, Fla., also collects her first All-Conference and All-Division awards. The sophomore is second in the USA South in goals against average at 0.45 after allowing just seven goals in 17 matches. Lemay recorded six shutouts in the regular season and has a saves percentage of .875. She was named USA South Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 19.

Porch, a senior from Arden Hills, Minn., leads Covenant with 15 total points after scoring three goals with nine assists during the regular season. Porch's nine assists are tied for the most in the USA South and she recorded an assist in five straight matches during a stretch of the season. Of her three goals, two have been game-winners. The conference honor is the third of her career.

Roylston, a senior from Greenville, S.C., was also a first team All-USA South West Division honoree and the Lady Scots' representative on the All-Sportsmanship team. The senior has been the anchor of Covenant's back line for four years and has helped the Lady Scots to a 0.47 goals against average and 10 shutouts on the year. Roylston also scored a goal earlier this year at Agnes Scott. The conference accolade is the third of Roylston's career.

Callie Bader, a sophomore from Washington, D.C., notches her first career conference award. Bader scored two goals, including a game-winner, on the year and helped the defense to 10 shutouts and its 0.47 goals against average.

A senior from Waynesville, Mo., Winking picks up her first conference honor. The senior had one goal and one assist from her outside back position. Her play on the back line was also crucial to Covenant's defense that had a stretch of over 640 game minutes without allowing a goal during the season. Winking was the USA South Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 17.

Salem, the West Division regular season champion, had the USA South Player of the Year in Brooke Bukas. Ferrum's Payton Stuart was voted the Rookie of the Year, while Paul Smith of Meredith his third straight Coach of the Year honor.
