Volkswagen Chattanooga has converted the 1500th employee from Aerotek to direct Volkswagen Chattanooga employment.

Chattanooga native Cedric Bradley has been working at Volkswagen Chattanooga in an Aerotek position in assembly on the BA5 line. Mr. Bradley will continue in this same role as a direct Volkswagen employee, responsible for installing parts in the Volkswagen Passat and upcoming Midsize SUV.

Volkswagen Chattanooga production positions are hired through staffing partner Aerotek. Aerotek employees are considered for conversion to full-time Volkswagen Chattanooga team member positions based on length of service and performance.

“Today we achieve a milestone that shows Volkswagen’s commitment to our Aerotek workforce,” said Mario Duarte, Volkswagen Chattanooga senior manager of Organizational Development, “as we continue our hiring push towards the customer launch of our new Midsize SUV we foresee additional conversions taking place.”

Volkswagen Chattanooga invests the same training in Aerotek new hires, as it did with the direct Volkswagen new hires brought on during the facilities original hiring push in 2010. This includes weeks of training in the state-of-the-art Volkswagen Academy, shop specific training in profi rooms, as well as on the job training.

Starting pay for Aerotek employees averages $13.50 an hour, with guaranteed raises and bonus every six months, topping out at $15.50 before conversion to Volkswagen employment. Once converted to Volkswagen the salary range starts at $15.50 to $23.00 per hour.

Volkswagen Chattanooga is in the midst of hiring 1,100 new team members between now and mid-April of 2017 as the plant prepares to add production of a new midsize SUV to its Passat production lines.
