Dorcas England, 77, of Signal Mountain, Tennesse, daughter of the late William R. and Etta Mae (Sampson) Locklear, and wife of Freeman England, was born on March 1, 1939. She died on Sunday, October 23, 2016.

She is survived by her daughter, Andrea Wright and husband, Jeff; sisters, Fannie Franks, Shirley Eubanks, Mary Callie Scharf, Rose Marie Jacobs, and Rhonda McDowell; brother, Otha Neal Locklear; and two grandsons, Steven and Kevin Wright.

Dorcas was preceded in death by her sisters, Marcella Bullard and Oma Mae Meadows and her brothers, Crosby, Golda, Vernon, and W.T. Locklear.

She was a member of New Beginnings Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 27, from 4-8 p.m., and Friday, Oct. 28, from 9-10 a.m. at the Chattanooga Funeral Home North Chapel, Hixson.

The funeral will be at the funeral home chapel on Friday, Oct. 28, at 10 a.m., with interment at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.

Arrangements are under the care of the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson.
