Greg Martin Is Clear Choice For District 3 County Commission

  • Friday, October 21, 2016

As chairman of the Hamilton Count Hamilton County Republican Party, I want to encourage everyone to get out and vote in the important election, especially if you live in the Hixson community where voters will pick a new District 3 county commissioner.

This particular race is unique given how state law dictated the process for electing the next commissioner. The guidelines were actually established years ago and outlines how the party, through its delegates in any given district, would elect our nominee; which is how Greg Martin was chosen unanimously to be the Republican Nominee from District 3. This is what occurred when Marty Haynes resigned his County Commission position after becoming our new assessor of property.  Despite what some may claim, this process was open and transparent to everyone.  Most important, there was no conspiracy or predetermined outcome as continues to claimed.

Many people have asked why Greg Martin has the public support of some many people in this race.  Yes, he is the Republican nominee, but there are plenty other reasons why I and many others are supporting Greg.

First, Greg has an outstanding record of service in the Hixson community.  Whether it’s being an active member of the Hixson Kiwanis or serving on the board for Friends of Hixson, the North River Civic Center or the Hixson Council of the Chamber of Commerce, Greg has played an active role in making Hixson a better place for everyone.

Greg also brings a keen understanding of the key issues facing our community and has proven record of making tough decisions on the Hamilton County School Board.  Most important, Greg is a conservative Republican that will ensure the conservative values of District 3 are well represented on the Hamilton County Commission.

Early voting is underway and continues until Thursday, Nov. 3.  Please get out and vote, and when you go vote, I ask that you vote for Greg Martin in the District 3 County Commission race.
