Joe Jenkins, who was caught up in a multi-year investigation of major cocaine sales in Chattanooga, was sentenced on Monday to five years in federal prison.
Jenkins appeared before Judge Sandy Mattice.
His advisory guideline range was 46-57 months, but he was subject to a mandatory 60-month term.
Prosecutor Chris Poole said during one 30-day period, the DEA intercepted Jenkins talking to one of his cocaine suppliers approximately 50 times.
During another 30-day period, there were 69 drug calls.
Jenkins has already served 21 months at the Bradley County Jail.
His attorney, Leslie Cory, said Jenkins will have jobs awaiting him when he gets out. She said, "A couple of his prior employers said he was just fantastic."
Jenkins had a prior federal prison stint.
A co-defendant, Johnny Caldwell, also was sent away for five years.
