Jayne Cagle started stand up paddleboarding five years ago, and she decided others to enjoy the relaxing sport.

She said her new passion has attracted many locals to the outdoors, standup paddling and a healthier lifestyle.

She and her husband, Ben Cagle, "discovered that a lot of people are coming to Waconda Bay as part of their staycation."

Jayne is a professional Purna yoga instructor with over 10 years teaching experience.  She says that she has "always paddled something all my life.”  When she took up standup paddleboarding five years ago, she saw the potential to integrate it into her business plan.

Ms. Cagle said the bay by the couple's home is an ideal spot for paddleboarding since it has no commercial traffic.

She said, "Waconda Bay is a small bay located off of Harrison Bay.  Minutes from downtown Chattanooga, Enterprise South Nature Park and Harrison Bay State Park, it offers peace, solitude and a fun way to create health and balance in to one’s life.

Many groups have discovered the standup paddling locale, including GPS Tucker River Fellows  (last year and this year).  Other groups include (hospital) co-workers, cardio fitness groups, and mothers and business professionals looking for a convenient, brief respite from their work schedule.

Ms. Cagle combines a "joyful (purna) yoga' program with some of the paddleboarding activities.
