Hoping to improve on last year’s seven-win campaign, the Georgia Northwestern Bobcats have reloaded with some additional size and some additional long-range shooters as they look to capture the program’s first Region XVII title and secure its first national tournament berth.

The journey will begin at home at the Rossville Athletic Center (R.A.C.) on Nov. 5 when they clash with the Welch College Flames out of Nashville, Tenn. Just over a week later, the Bobcats will make a return visit to Nashville to take part in the Flames Classic (Nov.
13-14) before returning home to face the LaGrange College junior varsity team on Nov. 17.

Road games against the Covenant College JV team (Nov. 19) and The Crown College (Nov. 21) will follow before the Bobcats return home for a pre-Thanksgiving meeting with the Bryan College JV team on Nov. 23.

After the break, Georgia Northwestern will open December in Dayton against the same Bryan JV squad on Dec. 2, followed by a home game against Georgia Gwinnett College on Dec. 4.

The R.A.C. will be the center of two days of wall-to-wall college basketball action on Dec. 11 and 12 as the first-ever Bobcats Invitational will bring Welch, Hines Prep Academy out of North Carolina and Trinity Bible College out of Florida into northwest Georgia. The team will play its first GCAA conference game of the year at West Georgia Tech on Dec. 14 before breaking for the Christmas holidays.

The Bobcats return to the court Jan. 7-9 in Florida for a tournament at Johnson University in Kissimmee. Another tournament follows the ensuing weekend (Jan. 15-16) as the Bobcats take part in the Oxford Classic in Covington.

That tournament will be followed by back-to-back road games at Toccoa Falls College (Jan. 19) and Welch (Jan. 21) before the Bobcats return home for a six-game homestand.

Conference foe Emory-Oxford will open up the stretch on Jan. 23, followed by visits from the Covenant JV (Jan. 26), conference opponents Southern Crescent Tech (Jan. 29) and West Georgia Tech (Feb. 2) and non-conference games against The Crown College (Feb. 4) and Johnson University (Feb. 6).

The final regular season conference game will be played on Feb. 12 in Griffin against Southern Crescent and the Bobcats will return to the metro-Atlanta area the following night (Feb. 13) to face Georgia Gwinnett in Lawrenceville. One more road game, at LaGrange (Feb. 17), will close out the regular season.

The Georgia Collegiate Athletic Conference (Region XVII) Tournament will return to Williams Gymnasium at Emory-Oxford College on Feb. 20 and 21. The winner will get the automatic bid to the NJCAA national tournament.
