$1,000 Reward Being Offered For Arrest Of Person Responsible For Graffiti In Cleveland

  • Wednesday, June 3, 2015
A $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for recent graffiti and acts of vandalism along the Cleveland/Bradley County Greenway.

Mayor Tom Rowland announced the reward Wednesday. The entire Cleveland City Council, City Manager Janice Casteel and Mayor Rowland participated in raising the reward at no cost to taxpayers.

"It is important that we apprehend the perpetrators," Mayor Rowland said.
"We want to send a strong message that this will not be tolerated."

The greenway is one of Cleveland's most popular features, enjoyed by many people of all ages, the mayor said. Graffiti and vandalism mar not only the appearance of the greenway but costs taxpayers for restoration and cleaning, Rowland said.

Anyone who has seen such destruction taking place or has information about the perpetrators should contact Lt. Robert Harbison at the Cleveland Police Department at 423 559-3396.

The reward is being offered for a 30 day period, beginning Wednesday, and is based on arrest and conviction of those responsible. Captain Mark Gibson, interim Cleveland police chief, said the identity of any informant will be kept confidential.
