Junior boarder Ryan is the president of the new club, leading the group with fellow officers, junior Eli Lemkin (treasurer), sophomore William McGregor (secretary) and junior James Whatley (vice president), and they already have undertaken several community service projects for students in their first year as a school organization.
Tom Herring and Jesse Teague are the faculty sponsors for the McCallie Leo Club.
Among the good work done by the McCallie Leo Club have been park trail clean-ups, and volunteer work at Ironman Chattanooga, the Salvation Army, the local Autism Walk and school carnivals.
This summer, the McCallie Leo Club is will take an 11-day service trip to Nicaragua with chaperones Will Honeycutt and Ryan Wadley to work with the Fabretto Children’s Foundation on several service projects during their stay.
