Construction To Close MLK Boulevard In Dalton

Transmission poles along the north side of Martin Luther King between Grimes St. and Frederick Street will be replaced in Dalton. Road closures are required to allow the cranes and equipment needed to set up in the road. In addition, the transmission poles will be off loaded within the limits of the lane closure.  

Here is the schedule: 

Tuesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, Martin Luther King will be closed  to  all traffic from  Grimes Street to Fields Avenue. Local residents only will be able to access this section of Martin Luther King. Detour route will be signed.      

Wednesday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, Martin Luther King will be closed to all traffic from Fields Avenue to Frederick Street. Local residents only will be able to access this section of Martin Luther King. Detour routes will be posted.  

Thursday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, westbound lanes on Martin Luther King from Grimes St. to Frederick Street will be closed to all traffic, with the exception of residents. Eastbound traffic will be restricted to one lane and westbound traffic on Martin Luther King will be routed to the other eastbound lane. 

Monday, June 1 through Friday, June 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., weather permitting, westbound lanes on Martin Luther King from Grimes St. to Frederick St. will be closed to all traffic with the exception of residents. Eastbound traffic will be restricted to one lane and westbound traffic on Martin Luther King will be routed to the other eastbound lane.
