Today is May 1st, and the music of springtime is about to officially kick in to high gear in Chattanooga this weekend. Friday night brings in the month of May with several huge events. Corey Smith will be at Engel Stadium for the 3rd annual American Dream Concert to benefit the Veterans Entrepreneurship Program at UTC. Remembering January opens the evening. Gates at 6 p.m., Remembering January at 7 p.m., Corey Smith at 8 p.m. Tickets are just $20 and are available at the gate.

Nightfall begins its new season on Friday, with John & Jacob headlining and Nick Lutsko as opening act. Nightfall is a free event located at Miller Plaza each Friday evening until September. For more information, and their schedule, just click http://www.nightfallchattanooga.com.

Over at Track 29, 3-time Grammy winner Keb Mo brings his style of Blues to Chattanooga on Friday night. It’s a “seated show”, so old folks like me don’t have to stand for hours on the hard concrete floor, too. You can get more info and the schedule at http://track29.co/shows.cfm.

On Sunday, the Chattanooga Market pulls off another coup, with a performance by the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera. Various performances are from 11:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. You can even register to play along with the CSO if you so desire! Check it out at http://chattanooga.events/calendar/category/music.

The Black Jacket Symphony returns to the Tivoli Theater on May 1, performing The Beatles Abbey Road Album and the Who’s Next album from The Who. Tickets are available at http://chattanoogaonstage.com.

There is much more music in Chattanooga this weekend at many of the town’s watering holes, taverns, and restaurants. Why not get out and enjoy all our town has to offer?

See you out and about!
