The Chattanooga Market, recognized by many as being one of the finest in the United States, opens the season this weekend at the First Tennessee Pavilion. Located on Carter Street, just across from Finley Stadium, the popular market will kick off the season on both Saturday and Sunday. Hours run from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Featuring locally grown produce, locally made crafts, jewelry, and clothing, the Chattanooga Market has grown into a weekend destination for thousands in Chattanooga.

And, let’s not forget about the music! Opening day kicks off this Saturday with one of my favorites of all time- Sweet Georgia Sound. With a professional Big Band sound and excellent vocalists, Sweet Georgia Sound has been entertaining music lovers for over 20 years. Wear your dancing shoes!

Sunday features one of Chattanooga’s most talented entertainers with Jennifer Daniels on stage from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. The talented duo of Naked Blue opens the day from 12:30 p.m. – 1 p.m. Each week, the Chattanooga Market offers some of the region’s best entertainment. And yes, you might just catch an act on their way up to the big-time, and then you will be able to say you saw them for free at the Chattanooga Market early in their career.

Check out the Chattanooga Market at www.chattanoogamarket.com and bookmark it so you will have their schedule handy all the way until this Christmas season. It’s free to get in, free music, and free to browse the vendors. Also on hand are several local food purveyors, with everything from sandwiches to pizza to hot dogs. Word on the street is that Clumpies Ice Cream will have a new booth at the market.

In one of the most important moves YOU can make all year, Blood Assurance will be on hand for blood donations. Save some lives this weekend by giving some blood. It’s so easy, that even I can do it. You can even sign up right here and make an appointment- http://www.bloodassurance.org/www/docs/1038.1042
