Charles James “Jim” Forrester, 71, of Ooltewah, Tennessee, died on Monday, April 20, 2015.

He was the son of the late John Forrester and Mary Lou Smith and was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Forrester Barbee.

Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from Combustion Engineering. He was an avid Tennessee Vols fan.

He was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Wilda “Jody” Forrester, of Ooltewah, two sons, Andy (Emily) Forrester, of Cleveland, TN, Terry Forrester, of Ooltewah, three grandchildren, Marissa Forrester, Noah Forrester, Ian Forrester, two sisters, Lavada White, of Ooltewah, Anna Faye (Buddy) Baxter, of Dallas, GA, three brothers, Tommy Forrester, Donnie Forrester, both of Ooltewah, Steve (Joyce) Forrester, of Decatur, TN, and many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Dairrell Cranford officiating. Jim’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.                        

The family will receive friends from 5–8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 22, at the funeral home.
