SCWN Sponsors A Marketplace Luncheon And A Mentor Program In April

  • Monday, April 13, 2015

The Scenic City Women's Network will host their April Marketplace Luncheon on Thursday, April 23 at  Mountain City Club, 729 Chestnut St,  Networking will begin at noon and lunch at 1 p.m.

The luncheon will feature Pat Merrell, speaking on "Without Faith, it is Impossible to Please God." Officials said, "Ms. Merrell grew up on Chattanooga’s Southside, watching her grandmother model the life of a woman after God’s own heart. Though her grandmother passed when Patricia was in her mid-twenties, her legacy of faith left a lasting impression.

"When Ms. Merrell suddenly became widowed with two school-aged children while in her mid-forties, her faith was tested beyond measure. Single parenting, loss of a partner, loss of financial support, among other things, became extremely overwhelming.  It was then that she decided to run towards the Lord with all of her cares.  God used this trial to draw her closer to Him."

Ms. Merrell is registered nurse, managing a team of nurses at BCBST. She has two children, Jerrod and Daphne.

Tickets are $20 or $15, non-profit rate (paid employee of a 501c3 organization).  Reservations must be made by noon on Tuesday, April 21 at reservations@scwn.org or by calling 423-698-6262.  There is free parking at the event.

SCWN will also sponsor a Mentor Program, "Understanding Personality Styles in the Marketplace" on Tuesday, May 5 from  5:30-7:30 p.m. at the SunTrust Bank Building, 736 Market St., Suite 1301.

The facilitator will be Marvae Eikanas.

Ms. Elkanas stated, "Much of our success at work, no matter what we do, centers on how well we navigate the various personalities we encounter. Want to thrive in your work? Discover the role your personality plays and how to best communicate, interact with, and motivate the personalities of co-workers, clients and customers. God has made each of us unique and wonderful. Learn to appreciate personality differences and lean into all that God has created you to be. Join me for a game changing evening that will be brimming with practical, interactive, and informative fun."

To make reservations, email reservations@scwn.org or call 423-698-6262.  A dinner will be served at the event.
