Woman Who Escaped After High-Speed Chase That Ended In Chattanooga Goes On TBI's 10 Most Wanted List; Is Quickly Arrested

A woman who escaped after a high-speed chase that ended in Chattanooga has been placed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation on the state’s Top Ten Most Wanted list.

Desiree Alexus Hester of Nashville was taken into custody about 9 p.m. at an apartment in the 600 block of South 7th Street in Nashville after Special Agents developed information as to her whereabouts.

Still at large was Tyrell Flenoy, who was also involved in the chase that began on I-75 in Catoosa County, Ga.

Hester had been wanted by the TBI and the Chattanooga Police Department for aggravated assault and carjacking.

The TBI said on Monday, Ms. Hester, Flenoy and three females were pursued by the Georgia State Police into Chattanooga.The chase began after authorities spotted a car going at a high rate of speed. The driver of the vehicle, Flenoy, refused to pull over. 

Authorities said the vehicle ran two other cars off the road during the chase.

Ms. Hester and Flenoy fled the vehicle after the pursuit ended on I-24 near the Fourth Avenue exit when the vehicle was pinned against the concrete by two patrol vehicles.

As he was diving out of the passenger side window, a loaded handgun fell from Flenoy.

The others in the vehicle were not charged and were released.

The TBI said a short time after the escape, Ms. Hester committed a carjacking in the 2000 block of South Lyerly Street, striking the victim with the car as she fled. 

Flenoy has been charged by the Georgia State Police with multiple felonies, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Flenoy is also wanted by the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department for a felony probation violation stemming from a previous attempted robbery conviction.

 Ms. Hester, 19, has black hair and brown eyes. She’s 5'3" and weighs 160 pounds. 

Flenoy, 20, has black hair and brown eyes. He is 6'3" and weighs 160 pounds.

The TBI said Ms. Hester and Flenoy are both members of the Bloods gang and should be considered armed and dangerous. They are believed to be driving a 2015 blue Kia Forte, with Tennessee license plate T99 34F.
