Chattanooga fire investigators have determined that last Thursday’s fire at 1207 Crutchfield St.  that nearly killed four people was deliberately set.

Lt. Henry McElvain with the Fire Investigation Division said he cannot divulge the reason why he thinks it’s arson, but he is asking for help from the public. If anyone has information that can help solve this case, call the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017. A cash award of up to $1,500 is being offered.

Lt. McElvain also released the identities of the four people who were rescued by the four Chattanooga police officers. They include: Callie Stargin, 86; Edward Jackson, 24; Saquoyah Moore, 22; and Eli Campbell, 9 months.

Mr. Jackson was transported to the Joseph M. Still Burn Center in Augusta, Ga. for second and third degree burns to his hands and forearms. Lt. McElvain said Mr. Jackson is expected to return to the burn center soon for additional treatment.

Captain Anthony Moore is assisting with this ongoing investigation.
