The Children's Advocacy Center of Hamilton County's One With Courage Award finalists have been announced. They are:
Help
Amy Covington, Annie Crawford, and Robin Howe
These community heroes have the courage to take action to help children in need or crisis.
Philip Mathews, Jim McClure, and Ezra & Kelly Reynolds
These advocates have the courage to inspire or educate children by offering hope for their future.
Healing
Liz Blasberry, Kyle Moses, and Wendy Ransom
These champions have the courage to make hurting children whole by providing healing to their mind, body, or spirit.
Organizations
Chattanooga Elite Basketball, Chattanooga Girls Leadership Institute, and Nooga Diversity Center
These organizations have the courage to provide help, hope, and healing to children as a group.
The awards dinner will be on Thursday, April 9, at 6 p.m. (dinner/program), with a 5:30 p.m. cocktail reception, at the DoubleTree Hotel.
The keynote speaker will be Robert "Bud" Cramer, Jr. He retired from the U.S. House of Representatives in 2008 after 18 years representing Alabama's 5th District. Prior to the U.S. Congress, Mr. Cramer served as the elected district attorney for Huntsville, Madison County, AL. In his role, he engineered the National Children's Advocacy Center and was named "National Public Citizen of the Year" by the National Association of Social Workers. The Washington Post called him a "pioneering district attorney," praising the innovative program. During his time in Congress, he accomplished significant work including co-founding both the Anti-Terrorism and Missing & Exploited Children caucuses. He serves as a managing director in Strategic Communications at FTI Consulting, based in Washington, D.C.
