UTC's Huesman Named CFPA National Performer Of The Week

  • Monday, November 30, 2015
The College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) named University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's Jacob Huesman the National Performer of the Week for his play in the Mocs' win over Fordham on Saturday.  Huesman led UTC to a 50-20 victory against the 14th-ranked Rams in the first round of the FCS Playoffs.

The senior quarterback was 17-25 passing for 211 yards, while tying a season-high with three touchdowns.  He also ran for 129 yards on 15 carries.

Huesman has 1,147 rushing yards on the year, 86 shy of the single-season school record (1,233) set by former Philadelphia Eagle Eldra Buckley in 2005.
He also has 3,954 career yards on the ground and is trying to become the third quarterback in FCS history to run for 1,000 yards.

The Mocs are on the round this weekend for the Round of 16.  UTC visits top-seeded Jacksonville State on Saturday, Dec. 5.  Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. (E.S.T.) with an ESPN3 broadcast from Jacksonville, Ala.
