Ooltewah’s Cameron Turner rushed for 194 yards and three touchdowns, a tenacious defense held White County to minus-8 yards of total offense and the Owls stormed to a 48-7 Region 4-5A football blowout win Friday night at James N. Monroe Stadium.

Turner scored on runs of 16 and 6 yards in the second quarter and added a 3-yard touchdown burst in the third quarter as the Owls improved to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in region play. The hard-running Turner had all but 17 yards of Ooltewah’s rushing yardage.

Quarterback Collin Thurman completed 9-of-18 passes for 110 yards, including scoring tosses of 3 yards and 35 yards to Jeremiah Jackson and Ethan Walls, respectively.

Jackson also recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown early in the third quarter. Tyler Reid sacked White County’s Pierce Whited, causing the fumble. Reid had three sacks in the game.

White County (2-6, 0-4) stunned the Owls in the opening quarter when David Kinser intercepted one of two Thurman passes and returned it 16 yards for a touchdown.

However, it was all Ooltewah after that.
