Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Chattanooga announced Theresa Varos as its new executive director.  Ms. Varos has a Master of Science degree in Guidance and Counseling from Loyola University, New Orleans. Previously she was employed as director of Marketing and Public Relations for Lookout Mountain Community Services.  

During the past 22 years she has worked as a therapist and in administrative program development/implementation for children and family service delivery.  Her passion is in assisting local and state partners with the development of system strategies in order to promote family-driven, individualized, strength-based, and culturally proficient practice.  She is a grant writer and offers technical assistance regarding community-based programming on a state and national level. 

Ms. Varos has two children, a son who attends the University of West Georgia and who is also completing an internship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, and a daughter who is actively involved at Gordon Lee High School.  In her spare time, she enjoys photography, philanthropy, traveling and participating in community events.
