Demetrice Joshen, 21, was shot twice on 10th Avenue on Thursday morning.

The Chattanooga Police Department responded around 8:50 a.m. to a person shot call near Dodson Avenue. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, Demetrice Joshen, who had been shot twice in the head.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Joshen and two other people were walking down 32nd Street toward Dodds Avenue when a gold or tan-colored four-door Toyota pulled up in front of them.

One of the two occupants in the vehicle exited the car and began shooting at the three parties walking. Joshen was struck twice in the head. The suspect then got back in the vehicle and the car sped away.

Witnesses were unable to provide suspect information. Investigators located the crime scene at 3100 block of 10th Ave. The suspect car was originally believed to be grey, but it was later determined that the vehicle was gold or tan in color. Though serious, Joshen’s injuries are non-life-threatening.
