Hoyt, Rebecca May Peck (Dayton)

Rebecca May (Peck) Hoyt, 94, of Dayton, TN, died on Sunday, January 25, 2015 in Dayton.

She was born March 18, 1920 in Herkimer, NY to the late Earl Ray Peck and Carrie (Morrow) Peck; and was also preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Hoyt.

Rebecca moved from Ohio to Dayton in 1936. She went on to earn her BA at Bryan College in 1940, and later became an executive secretary at Bryan College for 37 years. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Club in Dayton, the Bryan College Alumni Association, and Grace Bible Church.

Rebecca is survived by her nieces, Barbara Remington of Roswell, GA and Rebecca Rathmann of St. Louis, MO; nephews, Jeff and Charles Peck of Orlando, FL; seven step-children; and many step- grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Rebecca will be held Saturday, January 31 at noon in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Doug Russell and Rev. David Hobbs officiating. She will be laid to rest in Rhea Memory Gardens following a luncheon held at Grace Bible Church.

The family is being by Vanderwall Funeral Home where they will receive friends at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 31.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Bryan College of Dayton, TN.
