Billie Arnold
Billie Brockman Arnold, 85, formerly of Chattanooga, surrounded by her children and grandchildren, died on Monday evening, January 26, 2015 in Nashville, Tennessee where she lived at Brighton Gardens, Brentwood, for the past few years.
A native Texan born in Bay City, Tx., Billie met her husband, Gene Arnold at Abilene Christian University. Together Gene and Billie were longtime residents of the Chattanooga area where she worked an accountant and secretary. Billie was an active member of the Church of Christ.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Minister Gene Arnold who pastored several Church of Christ congregations in the Chattanooga area; her parents, John Creel and Willie Gray Brockman; sisters, Eleanor Barton and Mary Louise Haggard; brother, Jay Brockman; daughter, Anne Arnold; and granddaughter, Erin Arnold Smith.
She is survived by her children of Franklin, Jane Arnold Williams, Bradley G. (Lynne) Arnold and Creel Arnold (Douglas) Pittman; granddaughters, Laura Williams (Marc) Morrow, Carol Williams Phillips, Amy Arnold (Jim) Rusley, and Martha Coleman (Matthew) Hull; grandson, Burton (Candice) Coleman; eight great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 31, at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
A celebration of life service will follow at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the North Chapel with Minister David Schonhoff officiating. Burial will be in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
