Registration has begun for The “I Believe” Teen Moms’ Empowerment Conference on Sept. 20. The conference is free to teen mothers ages 13-19. It will be held at the Chattanooga Convention Center from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. The doors open at 8:30 a.m.
The conference will empower, educate, and expose area teen moms to positivity, opportunities and resources, said organizers of the event. Lifetime mentorships will be established by pairing successful women (some who were formerly teen moms} with today's teen moms. Melissa Brassel and Linda Murray Bullard aim to break the cycle of poverty, under-education, and lack of positive role models in the lives of area teen moms.
After the event, all remaining proceeds go to support the establishment of the 22:6, a teen moms' resource as a year round, nonprofit organization that empowers teen moms to live their best lives for them and their children.
Free childcare will be available during the conference.
