A Haven For Small Business Owners

  • Monday, September 15, 2014

With the latest incentive recently announced by the City of Chattanooga, the community is becoming a haven for small business owners and entrepreneurs.

The small business incentive program is a win-win for both business owners, while at the same time promoting an incentive for hiring full time employees. We all know that small businesses represent the primary engine for the majority of jobs in this country and programs like this really help to make a difference.

It will also add to the arsenal of other assets we have going to sale this community as the place where people would want to come and possibly relocate their business.

As I understand, businesses must hire 5 or more employees in the prior 12 month, ONLY for newly hired employees, who must work 30/hr a week,  live within the City limits of Chattanooga and a cap of $10k per busines.

The other good thing about the program is that it is a grant and NOT a loan. This is for EXISTING business owners, so I would encourage small, minority and women-owned businesses to take advantage of this incentive while it last.

Our hats are off to the City of Chattanooga for helping small, minority and women-owned business owners put more people to work.
