Buckner, Emma Giles

Emma Giles Buckner, 82, of Wicksburg, died on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at her residence.

Mrs. Buckner was born April 23, 1932 in Catoosa County, and lived most of her life in Rossville. She has been a resident of Wicksburg for the past several years. She was employed as a nurse and a beautician during her working career. She loved art, especially painting. Mrs. Buckner was of the Church of God of Prophecy faith.

She is survived by a son, Melvin Giles (Jan) of Wicksburg; three grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; a sister, Doris Gordy of Rossville.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, Aug. 29, 2014 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Brother David Giles officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday and prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.

Arrangements are by W. L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home in Fort Oglethorpe.
