The Cleveland Police Department, along with the Boys and Girls Club, host National Night Out, Tuesday, August 5 from 5 - 8 p.m. The event will be hosted at the Boys and Girls Club Tucker Unit, 385 3rd St. SW.
National Night Out is designed to promote community crime prevention strategies to the public. Officers will share information on Neighborhood Watch, self-defense classes and other programs that the Cleveland Police Department offers. Child fingerprinting will be conducted by officers and inflatable toys will be available for recreation. Specialty units such as SWAT and the Explosive Ordnance Device Unit will be present for demos.
The Cleveland Fire Department will be showcasing their equipment and Franklin Academy will be providing the public with free haircuts and face painting. Hotdogs and drinks will be provided free of charge. All children who attend will be given goodie bags.
