Opal Stansbury Dowlen, 94, of Centre, Alabama, died on Sunday, July 27, 2014.
She was born Jan. 27, 1920, to the late James and Hessie Stansbury.
She lived most of her life in Chattanooga, but resided in Centre, for the past 14 years.
Opal was a member of First Baptist Church in Centre.
She was preceded in death by husband, Herman E. Dowlen.
Survivors include her sister; Louise Upton, of Centre, and several extended family members and friends who loved her very much.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 30, from 12-1 p.m. at the North Chapel.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, in the Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Reverend Eddie Nation officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made in Opal Dowlen’s name to the American Lung Association.
