Vera Prestwood
Vera Thompson Prestwood, 91, of Chattanooga, died on Friday, July 25, 2014.
She was born April 19, 1923, in Flintstone, Ga., to the late Mattie and Clifford Harris. She was raised in Dalton. Mrs. Prestwood was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, the Order of the Eastern Star and the East Lake Garden Club.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Don E. Thompson and U.L. “Gene” Prestwood, sister, Mary Burgess, brother-in-law, Clayron Burgess, and brother, Virgil Harris.
Survivors include her son, Donald E. Thompson, Jr., grandsons, Christian and Alan, great-granddaughter, Lydia, brothers, Lloyd (Doris) Harris and Leo (Juanita) Harris, and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Vera’s life will be on Wednesday, July 30, at 1 p.m. in the East Chapel of Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Reverend Christian Thompson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29.
Pink roses or pink helium balloons may be sent in her memory.
