  • Monday, April 14, 2014

The Planning Commission on Monday, without comment, gave approval to the next phase of the $100 million Cameron Harbor development.

Developer Buck Schimpf said his part of the project, including a hotel that was opened earlier, is about $60 million.

He said an adjacent development by Evergreen Real Estate of Nashville will be about $40 million.

Both will go under the Cameron Harbor name.

Mr. Schimpf said site work should begin next month on a new restaurant, 30 condominiums, and townhomes.

Evergreen plans to construct 71 cottage homes, 235 apartments and 30 condos at the site on the Tennessee River on the west side of Cameron Hill.

Mr. Schimpf said he will also construct boat slips for the city.
